Doctors for Children in Need

Children in developing countries seldom have the chance of receiving appropriate medical care. Malnutrition, infectious diseases, deformities, burn injuries and crippled conditions often remain untreated – either the children die or suffer the consequences for the rest of their lives. Medical care is often hardly possible, as the costs for treatment would ruin their families financially.
Together with other voluntary doctors, I make repeated journeys at my own cost during my holidays into countries and crisis regions in the world where there is insufficient medical care in order to provide voluntary help. This personal and often shocking confrontation with countless, usually poverty-stricken, sick and generally helpless children caused me to found my own charitable trust in 2005.
Thanks to the substantial commitment shown by the voluntary doctors in situ and the enormous generosity of the donors, I have been able to provide targeted and sustainable medical aid for more than 2,000 children so far. The focus of my work has comprised up to now projects in India, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Costa Rica, Peru and Bolivia. In the context of temporally limited disaster relief the foundation „Doctors for Children in Need“ was so far also in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Haiti active.
I would be extremely pleased if you, too, would be prepared to contribute towards this aid for our little patients, which has rescued multiple lives.
